Research Interests
Drawing on my experience as a clinician on a drug addiction ward and expertise in mathematical modeling, I am dedicated to bridging the gap between clinical practice and experimental research. As a clinician scientist, my research focuses the neuro-cognitive mechanisms behind addictive behaviors.
By adopting a longitudinal approach, we strive to uncover the pathways of addiction development, persistence, and recovery. Our multidisciplinary team is equipped with an array of tools, including tailored questionnaires, behavioral tests, and cutting-edge functional MRI techniques, which enables us to conduct a comprehensive multi-level investigation.
The main aim is to explore cognitive processes such as executive functions, decision making, learning, motivation and to decipher the dysfunctions in action control commonly seen in addiction. These cognitive processes are modeled through computational methods to interpret behavior on a quantitative scale.
Ultimately, our goal is to map these dynamic cognitive computations to brain activity, using functional MRI to pinpoint the specific brain systems involved. This integrated approach not only enhances our understanding of addiction but also paves the way for innovative treatments.
