November 2020: Conference of the Psychosocial Association in Paediatric Oncology and Haematology (PSAPOH)
This year's PSAPOH conference had to be held online for the first time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The main topic was interdisciplinary cooperation and the integration of research and practice. Kristina Herzog, Christa Engelhardt-Lohrke and Florian Schepper reported on their research projects: Kristina Herzog presented the study "Puppet Interview", Christa Engelhardt-Lohrke introduced the prevention program "GeschwisterTREFF" and Florian Schepper reported on psychosocial treatment planning using electronic patient:internal files. Despite the online format, discussions were held, new cooperations were established and new research ideas were born.
March 2021: 3rd Research Conference of the Mitteldeutsches Krebszentrums (MIK) [East German Cancer Centre]
This year's Research Conference of the MIK was held online. Christa Engelhardt-Lohrke presented the „GeschwisterTREFF“. Kristina Herzog introduced the study "Puppet Interview" and discussed some results.

Kristina Herzog presented study results on illness perceptions and fear of progression n cancer-sick children and their parents at the 95. research conference of the GPOH.
September 2022: 20. Research Conference of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Psychoonkologie (PSO) in der Deutschen Krebsgesellschaft [Work Group for Psychooncology in the German Cancer Association]
Kristina Herzog presented results on associations between illness perceptions, fear of progression, and health-related quality of life at the 20. Research Conference of the PSO. These findings are of high importance for clinical practice. Furthermore, Kristina was awarded with the Reinhold-Schwarz award in psychooncology for her publication "Illness perceptions in patients and parents in paediatric oncology during acute treatment and follow-up care" (press release).
November 2022: StuFo Expo of theTU Dresden (Student Research)
In the run-up to StuFo Expo 2022, medical and PhD student Anna Winter took part in workshops on designing scientific posters and short video pitches (so-called elevator pitches). At the event, she was one of 12 students whose contributions were selected to be presented to a live audience. In her video pitch and poster contribution, Anna reported on the development of a puppet intervention to change dysfunctional illness perceptions in children with cancer. With her contribution she convinced the audience and won the 2nd audience award! The video of the pitch is available here for download.
