Closure Period
Due to extensive construction work, the Botanical Garden will be closed to the public from September 21, 2026, through February 28, 2027. Regardless, all educational events and guided tours scheduled for this period will take place—groups will be admitted on an individual basis.

We are very pleased to welcome you to the Botanical Garden of TU Dresden! The exhibition greenhouses are open from 10:00 a.m. until the garden closes.
The Boselgarten near Sörnewitz is open from April 1 through September 14 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Directions
The Botanical Garden is located in the center of Dresden, right next to the Großer Garten.
There is no visitor parking. We therefore recommend traveling by bike or public transportation (Straßburger Platz stop, tram lines 1, 2, 4, 10, 12, 13).

Admission to the Botanical Garden is free—donations are welcome.
Accessibility
For visitors with limited mobility, a disabled parking space and an accessible restroom (accessible with a Eurokey) are available. The main paths of the Botanical Garden are designed to be accessible. Please also refer to our more detailed information on accessibility.
Further Information
Benches are located in the outdoor area of the Botanical Garden, as well as in the Succulent House and the aquarium of the Tropical House. In the summer, seating areas are available in the container garden section. Restrooms are located in the entrance area of the Tropical House.
Dogs are not permitted in the Botanical Garden (exception: guide dogs). Bicycles may not be ridden on the garden grounds. They may be parked in the entrance area.
Lost and found items are kept in the administration building. For information by phone, call 0351 4593185 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or contact us by email.
Educational Programs for Visitors
Throughout the garden grounds, labels indicate the names and native regions of the species on display. Information panels on specific plants and topics supplement this signage. For most of the panels, a QR code provides access to English translations as well as the German text for screen readers.
On an educational trail focused on “bionics,” you’ll learn how nature inspires scientists in their search for ideas for the technology of the future. The trail begins about 60 meters past the entrance on the main path (map of the bionics educational trail).
The garden guide “Endangered Native Flora” provides interesting facts about Saxony’s endangered plants in the Botanical Garden. They can be identified by their red labels. A DVD about the Botanical Garden and a postcard booklet are also available for purchase. You can obtain these materials Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the garden administration office.
On the first and third Sunday of every month, staff members of the Botanical Garden offer public guided tours . The tours are free of charge, and registration is not required.
In addition, you can book group tours ( for 12 or more people). School classes can take advantage of a diverse range of programs at the Botany School, all tailored to the Saxon curriculum.
