30 years of "Freundeskreis des Botanischen Gartens Dresden e.V."

On June 5, 1996, 44 founding members laid the foundation stone for an association to support the Botanical Garden. Since then, the number of supporters has grown to 238.

Special events in the garden, such as the Museum Night (next date 20.06.2026) and the Summer Festival (next date 16.08.2026) benefit from the active help of committed members. A large number of projects have received financial support. These include the Dresden Botanical School, which uses the Botanical Garden as an extracurricular place of learning for around 4,000 pupils every year. Round benches and fruit trees were financed for the teaching school garden, where TU Dresden students gain practical experience in growing plants. Purchases that facilitate horticultural work and promote the garden's public relations work are also supported, as are further training for gardeners and student research in the Botanical Garden.
