Public guided tour on August 23: The professional care of potted plants
The Container Garden Area at the Botanical Garden
If you don’t have a garden right outside your front door, you might garden on your balcony or in your backyard. After all, with the right care, a wide variety of plants can be grown in containers or pots. The Botanical Garden’s large collection of container plants will return to its winter quarters in Rainforest House II this fall. It’s worth visiting the collection outdoors one last time in midsummer. On Sunday, August 23, 2026, outdoor gardener Josef Gogollok will offer tips on the proper care of container plants—from overwintering to repotting—during a guided tour. The meeting point is at 2:00 p.m. in the garden’s entrance area at Stübelallee 2.
Following the tour, starting at 3:30 p.m., the “Meet the Expert Under the Conifer” dialogue series invites you to join Prof. Matthias Mauder in exploring how green infrastructure can help manage heat in the city.
All public tours are free of charge—donations are welcome! No registration is required.
