Public Guided Tour on November 1: Historic Plants in the Botanical Garden
The palm fern Dioon spinulosum survived World War II.
The Botanical Garden of TU Dresden opened over 130 years ago on the grounds adjacent to the Großer Garten. Some of the plants were already here before the garden was founded, and we do not know their exact age. We know that others were moved here from the old garden grounds. And then there are even “living witnesses” that survived World War II… This coming Sunday, during a public guided tour, the eventful history of the Botanical Garden and its valuable plant collection will be explored through historical anecdotes and living plant specimens.
The meeting point is at 2:00 p.m. in front of the main entrance to the Botanical Garden at Stübelallee 2.
Due to construction work, visits to the Botanical Garden are currently only possible as part of a public guided tour. Unfortunately, independent tours are not permitted during the guided tour.
The tour is free of charge. Donations are welcome.
In the event of very bad weather, we will unfortunately have to cancel the event.
