the blue tiger - tjg. theater junge generation
based on the Czech children's film by Tereza Horváthová and Petr Oukropec – in a version by Ulrike Carl, Drama 6+
"Can something I imagine actually exist?" asks nine-year-old Johanka. She draws a blue tiger that's supposed to save her home. Johanka and her best friend Matyas live in the old Botanical Garden. The construction company Murks is going to demolish it and build a shopping center in its place. And indeed, a blue tiger appears in the city and causes a stir: Large-scale cordons, construction work is at a standstill, and property investor Frieder Murks is fuming because everyone is only talking about the animal with blue fur. When several dogs suddenly disappear without a trace, the property investor offers a reward for the tiger. Will Johanka and Matyas succeed in protecting not only the Botanical Garden, but also the blue tiger?
In this adaptation of the Czech children's film, two children, strengthened by family unity, their close friendship, and the power of their vivid imaginations, fight for their home and the preservation of a green oasis in the middle of the city.
