The Research Training Group presents...

(f. l. t. r.) Laura Amaya, Shiyu Guo, and Linda Ternova
In the past six weeks, the fourth Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group welcomed three new international doctoral students.
A warm welcome to Laura Amaya Hernandez from Colombia! She will be conducting research on the technological-systemic impact of the hydrogen economy in project F1 to analyse the technical feasibility of expanding renewable energy plants based on regional wind and solar potential, and further evaluate the environmental impact of renewable energy installations on landscape and biodiversity. Laura Amaya is supervised by the Chair of Energy Process Engineering at TU-Dresden.
A welcome also goes to Shiyu Guo from China. Over the next few years, she will be conducting research on the coordination of hydrogen value networks from an actor-centred perspective. Her research work is located within Cluster H in project H2. The Chair of Business Administration, esp. Industrial Management, is responsible for the technical supervision.
Ternova Linda from Albania was also warmly welcomed into the fourth Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group on September 1st, 2023. In Ms Ternova's project, the traffic noise-related health effects of different future mobility scenarios including hydrogen-powered transport are being investigated under the supervision of the Chair of Occupational, Social Medicine and Public Health.
The three new doctoral students took the opportunity to say thank you for accepting them into the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group. Linda Ternova is very excited about the opportunity to gain new experience and develop professionally through the funding programme. Shiyu Guo also hopes to get one step closer to her dream career which describes as follows:
"My career aspiration is to become an interdisciplinary researcher and problem solver. My goal is to apply my research findings to real-life scenarios. I strongly believe that addressing today's complex societal and scientific challenges requires the integration of expertise and perspectives from different fields. I believe that through interdisciplinary collaboration we can better address complex problems and create innovative and sustainable solutions."
Laura Amaya would like to use her time at the Research Training Group and the collaboration with doctoral students from different disciplines to further her scientific skills and personal growth.
The Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group is looking forward to working with these three doctoral students in an interdisciplinary way in the coming years, and is convinced of a good and inspiring collaboration!
