Inaugural lecture by Prof. Pascal Kerschke
On Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, Prof. Pascal Kerschke, supervisor of bridging project BR3: Automated and Interpretable Modelling of the Energy Market using Machine Learning, gave his public inaugural lecture. Prof. Kerschke has been head of the new professorship for Big Data Analytics in Transportation at the Institute of Economics and Transport of the Faculty of Transport Sciences "Friedrich List" since March 15th, 2021.

In his lecture Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Optimisation - Data Driven Methods and Their Potential for Transportation Research, which was introduced by Dean Prof. Günther Prokop and the Managing Director of the Institute Prof. Georg Hirte, he presented his field of research to the invited guests. After the one-hour lecture, he answered questions from the audience and invited them to a reception in front of the Audimax in the Gerhart Potthoff building. Prof. Kerschke had become acquainted with the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group through his invitation to give a guest lecture on June 10th, 2021 (the RTG reported) ), which was the starting point for further cooperation.
We wish Prof. Kerschke all the best for his future and a long and fruitful research relationship with the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group.
