Linda Ternova gave a presentation on her research work - a review study on the effects of road traffic noise on health in the context of future mobility scenarios. She focused on the most promising future measures to reduce the health effects of road traffic noise, such as the use of electric vehicles, general noise abatement strategies, setting a 30 km/h speed limit in cities, reducing traffic volumes, the use of noise barriers, quieter tires, quieter roads or a combination of these measures. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion which contributed to a deeper understanding of the topic.
The 20th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Epidemiology (DGEpi) - Changing the Face of Epidemiology was held at the University of Münster from September 23 to 25, 2025. National and international scientists and researchers from the field of epidemiology had the opportunity to exchange their latest research results. At this conference, RTG doctoral student Linda Ternova gave a poster presentation on the effects of road traffic noise on annoyance and sleep disturbance in the context of future mobility scenarios. During the poster session, she was available to answer any questions from the participants. The event ended with positive feedback and a look ahead to the next DGEpi conference in Ulm next year.
