Dr. Srinivas Rangarajan visits the RTG
The Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group was delighted to welcome a special visitor this week. Dr. Srinivas Rangarajan, Associate Professor at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, took the time to discuss exciting research questions with the doctoral students. Dr. Rangarajan's research falls into the field of computational chemistry and is particularly concerned with the development and understanding of catalysts. Among other things, this research can be used to optimize processes in hydrogen production or the synthesis of hydrogen carriers.
The meeting began with a mutual introduction, during which the first interested questions about the research projects of the Research Training Group arose. Dr. Rangarajan then presented his impressive and very interesting work for the Research Training Group. This was followed by a more detailed presentation of the Research Training Group's clusters and projects.
The discussions were not limited to chemistry projects. Dr. Rangarajan also showed a strong interest in projects from fields such as Communication Science, Business Administration and Economics and Computer Science. It was exciting to see how he was able to ask well-founded questions even in these disciplines that were foreign to him. It also became apparent that there are several points of contact for cooperation opportunities.
We would like to thank Dr. Srinivas Rangarajan for his time and are sure that this will not be the last contact with him.
