Chinese online debating club for the first time in Germany

"I Can I BB" - that is the title of China's first online debating club, and it means something along the lines of "I can talk". In the online show, which was held in Germany for the first time from May to July 2020, we quickly noticed who the most talkative Chinese-speaking persons were, but we also enjoyed hearing insightful perspectives on a variety of topics. Several hundred people from Germany took part in the selection process, but only 16 made it into the final competition. One of them was Wanqi Zhao, a scholarship holder from the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group. After 1.5 hours of heated debate, she and her team of 3 colleagues were able to successfully defend themselves as the winners of the Germany-wide competition and received a voucher worth 100 euros each. The final round’s discussion topic: "If you had a button that you could speed up time, would you press it?" With her victory, Ms. Zhao qualified for a larger round of the debate club in China.
