Spring colloquium 2023 with constituent board meeting
On April 17th, 2023, the members of the fourth Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group met for the first time for the internal spring colloquium in the Werner-Hartmann Bau of the TU Dresden. The colloquium started with the constituent board meeting of the speakers, the management and the Principal Investigators (PIs). Here, among other things, the self-image and working methods of the Research Training Group were discussed, experiences from the last generation of the group were reflected upon, and impulses for optimizing the cooperation between the RTG and the supervising professorships were suggested.
Subsequently, the doctoral students presented their respective clusters to the participants on the basis of recently created posters. This allowed the overall research topic of the individual clusters and the role of the individual projects to be placed in the context of the fourth Research Training Group. This was followed by a detailed examination of the individual projects, each of which was followed by a lively discussion among the participants, as well as the opportunity for project-related questions. The presentation of the new fellows, for the first time in Pecha Kucha format, made for a very entertaining presentation of the individual projects. The former bridge projects, which have been part of the RTG since 2022 and are now integrated into the clusters, were able to present the interim status of their research results in more detail.
Another highlight of the colloquium was the presentation of H2UB by Aljoscha Frede. The first pan-European platform for hydrogen start-ups and innovations, based in Essen, Germany (the RTG reported), serves to network players and start-ups in Europe's hydrogen industry and offers, among other things, boot camps to sharpen business ideas and their marketing. For the doctoral students, this contact point potentially offers the opportunity to establish contact with companies and to exchange research data.
The informative spring colloquium came to a successful end in the Café Weinberg restaurant with a joint dinner and further interesting discussions in a relaxed atmosphere.
