Kick-off: Mobility as a Service project
On October 14, 2020, doctoral students Björn Verse (project C5, chair of environmental management and accounting) and Andrea Hauslbauer (project C3, chair of traffic and transportation psychology), started off their joint, interdisciplinary project on Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
The rationale of MaaS is to shift users away from private ownership of transport modes and instead towards access to modes. MaaS combines different transport offers into a single channel which allows users to plan, book and pay for their trips. The researchers’ aim is to uncover opportunitiers and barriers regarding the uptake of MaaS in Berlin.
The other doctoral students of the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group agreed to participate in the pre-testing of the qualitative pre-study in the form of focus groups. Results of the qualitative study will inform the quantitative online survey and experiment, which is scheduled to launch in January 2021.
