55th Power Plant Technology Colloquium
The 55th Power Plant Technology Colloquium organized by TU Dresden, which took place on 10 and 11 October 2023 at the International Congress Center Dresden, offered groundbreaking insights into various topics, including hydrogen, nuclear energy, power-to-X, exhaust gas purification and waste as well as emission reduction ( full program) under the scientific direction of Prof. Michael Beckmann (Chair of Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy) and the speaker of the Research Training Group Prof. Antonio Hurtado (Chair of Energy Process Engineering). The open discussions and encounters with each other, especially during the company fair, were a benefit for all participants.
An interesting highlight was the panel discussion professionally moderated by Jürgen Pfeiffer with prominent participants, including Minister President of the Free State of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, and Federal Chairwoman of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Ricarda Lang. They discussed the topic of "GREEN+CLEAN European Energy Talks" in a captivating dialog that shed light on the future of energy technology and sustainability*.

Stefan Heidinger during his presentation
Furthermore, Stefan Heidinger, former doctoral student of the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group, together with Ismail Korkmaz from EUtech Scientific Engineering GmbH and Serkan Yavaş from İSKEN-İskenderun Enerji Üretim ve Tic. A. Ş. gave an exciting presentation entitled "Effective emissions reduction and plant optimization with smart combustion performance assessment".
Max Vater, an associate member of the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group, addressed the topic of hydrogen safety in his presentation "Safety of hydrogen-based energy systems including nuclear power plants" at the Nuclear Energy Symposium.
