New publication by former doctoral student Julia B. Gutierrez-Lopez available
We are pleased to announce the publication of a new research paper titled "Characterising the flexibility of electric vehicle charging strategies: a systematic review and assessment" by Julia B. Gutierrez-Lopez (project C1: Moving Mobility into the 22nd century: development of mobility scenarios and integration of electric vehicles in the electricity system), a former member of the 3rd cohort of the Boysen-TUD Research Training Group and affiliated with the Chair of Business Administration, esp. Energy Economics. The paper addresses the growing concern surrounding the impact of electric vehicle (EV) fleets on electricity markets and distribution grids. By conducting an aggregative systematic literature review, the study presents a typification of charging strategies and introduces a conceptual framework to evaluate their flexibility in distribution grids. The framework encompasses dimensions such as time, duration, quantity, and location of charging. Through qualitative content analysis and quantitative data analysis, the research findings indicate that flexibility dimensions are unevenly exploited, highlighting the need for innovative charging structures to enhance flexibility supply. These insightful findings provide valuable evidence for evidence-based policy interventions in the realm of EV charging strategies.
