Paper about Material Treatment in Pulsation Reactors published
Cluster A has published its framework paper "Material Treatment in Pulsation Reactors - From Flame Spray Pyrolysis to Industrial Scale". This describes the approach of using flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) in the laboratory for the synthesis of novel nano-sized catalyst particles. Since scaling up FSP has several drawbacks, the pulsation reactor is presented as a viable alternative for industrial scale production. Proof of concept was provided in the work for silica and zirconia, as both materials could be synthesized with comparable particle sizes and specific surface areas in both devices. This work involved several disciplines, namely chemistry, energy process engineering, and measurement and sensor technology. This interdisciplinary work presented some challenges, such as finding a common wording, but ultimately all obstacles were overcome.
