Soundwalks in the Great Garden
As part of the sub-project D3, “Perception of noise in urban green spaces”, scholarship-holder Verena Zapf is conducting several so-called soundwalks in the Great Garden in Dresden this September. Soundwalks are walks in which the focus is on listening and then evaluating. The participants rate both their acoustic perception and their visual impression at 11 different stations. In keeping with the interdisciplinary goal of the Research Training Group, the soundwalks are accompanied by Omid Samani (subproject D1), who carries out psychoacoustic measurements at the examination points. Thus, in addition to the sound pressure levels, psychoacoustic parameters such as roughness, sharpness, or tonality can also be considered.
