Prof. Hurtado at the SPIN2030 launch event in Leipzig
SPIN2030 is the name of the campaign for Saxony as a science state in the coming years. The goal is to create visibility for excellence, for top research, for good teaching. To this end, around 17 billion euros are to be invested in Saxony as a science state by 2030.
At the launch event on 3 February in the Leipzig Congress Hall, guests were able to experience how diverse, exciting and innovative science, research and teaching are in Saxony with its universities and research institutions.
In short rousing lectures and presentations, scientists showed the potential of their research and of Saxony as a science location in particular. It is worth becoming much better known both in Germany and worldwide.
From the TU Dresden, Prof. Antonio Hurtado, spokesperson of the Boysen-TUD Research Training Group, Prof. Nadine Bergner (Chair of Didactics of Computer Science) and Prof. Frank Fitzek (Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks) were guests and spoke about the future of energy and hydrogen research, the use of AI in the future and the developments in robotics and human-machine interaction that are advancing at a dizzying pace. This was evidenced not least by the humanoid robot Ameco, which fascinated the the visitors with both its facial expressions and its linguistic reactions.
