3rd International Conference on Smart Energy Systems and 4th Generation District Heating in Kopenhagen, Denmark
From the 12th to 13th of September, 2017, the 3rd International Conference on Smart Energy Systems and 4th Generation District Heating took place in Copenhagen. Anna-Elisabeth Wollstein-Lehmkuhl presented her research results on "Integration of seasonal heat storage systems in existing building structures" within the session "Future district heating production and systems". The conference enables scientists and companies to present their own research findings and experiences in the field of sustainable energy systems and heat networks, and stimulate international exchange. It is organized annually by the 4DH Strategic Research Centre, the RE-INVEST project, and Aalborg University.
56th Annual Scientific Meeting of the German Society for Occupational and Environmental Medicine (DGAUM)
From the 9th to the 11th of March, 2016, the 56th Annual Scientific Meeting of the German Society for Occupational and Environmental Medicine (DGAUM) took place in Munich. In a poster presentation ("Possibilities and Limitations of Scoping Reviews on the Example of the Health Effects of Wind Turbines"), Alice Freiberg presented aspects of her doctoral project.
The 2015 Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE) in Boulder, Colorado (USA)
The 13th Conference on Communication and Environment was held at the University of Colorado Boulder, June 11-14, 2015. Adriane Schmidt presented her paper "Need for a wind of change? Public acceptance factors of offshore-wind and their use by communicators and the media" within the session "Assessing climate communication: new directions and possibilities for engagement” on Saturday, June 13, 2015. The COCE brought environmental communication, its challenges and opportunities into focus.

64th Conference of the International Communication Association (ICA) in Seattle (USA)
Adriane Schmidt participated in the 64th International Conference of the International Communication Association (ICA) in Seattle, USA from 22 May - 26 May 2014. She presented a poster at the Interactive Paper Session on the topic "Meta-Analysis of Influence Factors on Acceptance of Hydrogen Energy Technologies and Recommendations for Communication Strategies". The annual conference of the ICA is the most important conference in the field of communication research. In 459 sessions highly relevant papers for the whole field of communication research were presented.
13th Symposium of Energy Innovation (Energieinnovation) at TU Graz (12 February - 14 February 2014)
The doctoral candidates Mark Erndt and Daniel Schubert presented recent research results of their projects at the 13th Symposium of Energy Innovation (energy innovation conference). The conference in Graz is one of the leading conferences for energy economics in European German-speaking countries bringing together more than 600 participants. Mark Erndt talked about the development of flexibility for power plant dispatching in the session B3 (Flexible Power Plants). Daniel Schubert presented on the topic assessment and integration of societal acceptance in the plenary session P3 (Energy Policy Framework). Mr. Schubert’s contribution was awarded with the Young Author Award.
9th World Conference of Chemical Engineering
Onkar Dixit participated in the 9th World Conference of Chemical Engineering in Seoul, South Korea from 18 August - 23 August 2013. He gave a presentation on “Properties of Absorption Solvents suitable for Upgrading Biogas to Biomethane”. The conference, which is held once every four years, is the most important conference in the field of process engineering.
The “8th Conference on Energy Economics and Technology (ENERDAY)” on the subject of energy policies and market design in Europe took place at the TU Dresden on 19 April 2013. The annual conference is organized by the German Institute for Economic Research (Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, DIW, Berlin), Working group “Infrastructure Policy (WIP)” of the TU Berlin, Association of Energy Science and Energy Politics (Gesellschaft für Energiewissenschaft und Energiepolitik e.V., GEE) and the Chair of Energy Economics at TU Dresden (EE2).
The Boysen-TU Dresden-Graduiertenkolleg (also known as Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group) was represented by one of the doctoral students, Daniel Schubert, during the session ‘Security of Supply’. He presented on 'The blackout in Munich: how do households value security of supply?’. The contribution was generated in cooperation with Thomas Meyer, Alexander v. Selasinky and Dominik Möst. Results shown were results of the representative Boysen-TU Dresden-Graduiertenkolleg-survey in Munich after the blackout there in November 2012 with focus on evaluation of the security of supply.
