­2nd prize in the Züblin Steel Construction Prize 2025

The structural design by Emma Sophie Bomertl and Sophia Stitz for a column-free hall for the 800 m² soccer pitch of BSG Chemie Leipzig was awarded 2nd prize in the Züblin Steel Construction Prize 2025. The design by the two students was created in the winter semester 2024/25 as part of the "Leutzscher Holz" theme published by the Chair of Architectural Design and Construction I in cooperation with the Chair of Structural Design and combines an indoor soccer pitch, a fan store with fan history and administrative areas under one roof. The functional and constructive design for the hall impressed the jury with its modular interior spaces, translucent façade and sophisticated bracing system.
