Florian Summa Univ.-Prof.-Dipl.-Ing.
Florian Summa is an architect and co-founded SUMMACUMFEMMER Architekt*innen with Anne Femmer in Leipzig in 2015. Working in changing collaborations, the practice realises socio-ecological building and transformation projects with a focus on research through experimentation. In 2023, the practice co-curated the German Pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale, conceived as an open laboratory for repair practices in buildings used by civil-society initiatives across Venice. Florian Summa has taught and conducted research at numerous European universities, including ETH Zurich, Technical University of Munich, Graz University of Technology, Berlin University of the Arts, TU Dublin and EPFL. Since 2026, he has been Professor of Foundations of Architectural Design at TU Dresden. He is Deputy Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation.

Alexander Barina Dipl.-Ing.
is an architect and founder of STUDIO BARINA in Leipzig. After graduating from Berlin University of the Arts, he worked at Adolf Krischanitz in Vienna and as a freelance collaborator with Lacaton & Vassal in Paris, among others. He has taught at TU Wien and HTWK Leipzig, worked as a research and teaching assistant at Graz University of Technology, and as a guest lecturer at Berlin University of the Arts. Since 2026, he has been a research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Foundations of Architectural Design. His ongoing doctoral research investigates the “Aesthetics of Tolerance”.

Lorenz Brobeil Dipl.-Ing.
studied architecture at TU Dresden, where he received his diploma in 2023. He gained practical experience in Portugal as a member at the architecture studio oitoo (Porto) and at office Knerer und Lang (Dresden). Since 2024, he has been a teaching and research associate at the Chair of the Foundations of Architectural Design and works on his own projects in parallel. lorenz.brobeil@tu-dresden.de
Kristina Hendker M.A.
studied architecture at Berlin University of the Arts and TU Wien, as well as International Development at the University of Vienna. In her Master’s thesis, awarded the Max Taut Prize, she explored possible futures within the contradictions and conflicts of urban ecosystems. Following work with several architecture practices in Vienna and Berlin, she joined Holzer Kobler Architekturen (Berlin/Zurich) in 2025. Since 2026, she has been a research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Foundations of Architectural Design.

Cornelia Hofmann
has been responsible for the administrative management of the Chair of Foundations of Architectural Design since 2018. She also coordinates doctoral procedures and works in the Examinations Office of the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape at TU Dresden.

Beatrice Koch Dipl.-Ing.
studied architecture at Graz University of Technology and the University of Antwerp. From 2022 to 2026, she worked as a project architect at SUMMACUMFEMMER Architekt*innen in Leipzig, where her projects included the German Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale and the transformation of the naTo e.V. sociocultural centre in Leipzig. Since 2026, she has been a research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Foundations of Architectural Design.
