LM220 - PART "Landscape planning in the context of spatial planning"

In the 2026/27 winter semester
the seminar series “Landscape Planning in the Context of Spatial Planning” will take place on Thursdays between 9:20 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. in room BZW/A/418/U . The course begins on October 15, 2026. Please refer to the schedule below for further details.
Course Content
Spatial planning should be understood not only in the traditional sense of comprehensive spatial planning but also as an approach to sustainable development. In addition to formal tools and methods, informal ones will also be discussed. The goal is to enable students to use planning tools with confidence and creativity.
Topics include:
- spatial planning frameworks and the associated landscape planning tools,
- urban land-use planning documents and the associated landscape planning tools,
- environmental impact assessments at the levels of preliminary and binding urban land-use planning,
- impact mitigation regulations under building law, eco-accounts, and land pools,
- accounting and valuation methods,
- informal planning approaches,
- participation and social science methods in landscape planning, and
- a range of current topics.

Course Requirements: Participation in the exercises, as well as a pitch and presentation on a selected topic, accompanied by a written paper on the subject
