LM220 Landscape planning in the context of Spatial planning

In the summer semester 2025

the seminar series Landscape Planning in the Context of Spatial Planning will take place on Thursdays in the time slot  09:20 to 12:40 in HSZ/103 . The course starts on 16.10.2025. Please refer to the schedule down below for more information.

Course content

Spatial planning should be understood beyond the classical understanding of overall spatial planning as an approach to sustainable development. In addition to formal instruments and methods, informal instruments and methods are also discussed. The aim is to achieve a confident and creative use of planning tools.

Topics are

• Spatial planning plans and the associated landscape planning instruments,
• urban land-use planning and the associated landscape planning instruments,
• the environmental assessment at the level of preparatory and binding urban land-use planning,
• intervention regulation in building law, eco-accounts and land pools,
• balancing and evaluation methods,
• informal planning approaches,
• participation and social science methods in landscape planning and
• a range of current topics.

Participation in the exercises as well as pitch and moderation performance on a selected topic with written elaboration on it
