Multiple awards for students in the Chemnitz inside urban planning competition
5 prizes for TU Dresden students in the urban planning competition "Chemnitz Inside - upgrade and connect"
Students from the Faculty of Architecture at TU Dresden have won five out of seven prizes in the urban planning competition "Chemnitz Inside - upgrade and connect". The projects were supervised by Prof. Melanie Humann, Gudrun Deppe and Simon Korn at the Chair of Urbanism & Design.
In addition to the winning design, which cleverly placed a sports hall in the center of Chemnitz, a special prize was also awarded that did not include any buildings. In this respect, the jury's decision reflected the current debate about the buildability of city centers against the backdrop of the climate crisis.
A total of 38 entries were submitted by 11 universities for the competition.
