Palais Éphémère - Modular lightweight structures for the Palais Sommer Dresden
In the coming semester, the design studio will be looking for architectural solutions for the Palais Sommer Festival on Dresden's Neumarkt that respond to the requirements of a temporary cultural festival in an outdoor space - flexible, modular and convincing in terms of design.
The aim is to develop a coherent ensemble that is easy to transport, quick to set up and dismantle and gives the festival a striking architectural identity.

Pioneers of building - Dresden designers and their groundbreaking works
In the coming semester, we will be looking at lesser-known 20th century designers whose work and buildings have a connection to Dresden. In addition to the biographies of the architects and engineers, the focus will be on their extensive work in and around Dresden. With the help of archive research and building documentation, for example, the lives and work of the protagonists will be examined. Possible connections between them can be identified and traced.

Tanzhaus Hellerau - Dresden as a hotbed of progressive expressive dance
The subject of the design task for the winter semester 25/26 is the expansion of the multidisciplinary art center Festspielhaus Hellerau to include a dance house. The extension is intended to deepen the focus on dance and combine its historical significance with an international vision for the future.
Staff from the Chair of Architectural Design and Construction I and the Chair of Structural Design are supervising the students. The aim is to develop a holistic, integral design idea that combines the aspects of both disciplines into a coherent solution. On our side, the focus is on innovative structural solutions that harmonize the architectural idea with the structural requirements.
