Development of algorithm for generic nonresidential buildings especially office buildings
Erarbeitung eines Algorithmus für Nichtwohngebäude – speziell Bürogebäude
Within the scope of the diploma thesis, an algorithm was developed which generates generic geometry models based on demand planning parameters specifically for office buildings. The models are created ready for simulation and are computable for EnergyPlus or other programs that can use the IDF format.
They offer professional planners the possibility to carry out an energy evaluation of the building in early planning phases.
For the usage profiles, templates of DIN V 18599 were used for the respective zones. The programming of the algorithm was implemented in VBA. During the development of the building geometry, both planning aspects and legal principles were researched and taken into account.
The algorithm can be used in many ways. It can be used for both new buildings and existing buildings. Such algorithms can achieve immense time and thus cost savings in model creation.
