ZFB Center for Construction Research
The ZFB Center for Construction Research is an interdisciplinary affiliation of research-oriented chairs and institutes at TU Dresden´s departments of architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and information technology. The aim of the ZFB is to develop cross-disciplinary research projects in the field of construction, planning and design, and to make construction research more visible at TU Dresden and beyond. The WISSENSARCHITEKTUR Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture will contribute following expertises: 1) Design methods and technologies for connected buildings and quarters (“Smart City”, “Internet of Buildings”), 2) Bionic modelling and design for architectural construction, 3) Collaborative workspaces and buildings. The center is directed by Prof. John Grunewald, Chair of Building Physics, and managed by Magdalena Tarkiewicz. Jörg Rainer Noennig was elected to the executive board of the ZFB in 2015.
