U_Code Follow_up
Program: EXIST Forschungstransfer
Lead: TUD Knowledge Architecture
Runtime: 2022 - 2024
U_CODE is an innovative 3D participation application for urban and transport planning, with which you can easily reach a broad public. This enables you to identify meaningful requirements for new planning, to communicate existing planning ideas and decisions in a comprehensible manner and to obtain tangible opinions from the public.
U_CODE was developed in 2016 - 2019 as part of the Horizon 2020 funded EU project led by the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture at the TU Dresden. Partners included the TU Delft, the industry association Silicon Saxony, the IT company Oracle and the planning office gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg and Partners. In the project, the new method and innovative digital tools were conceptually developed and tested before they were put into practice.
Since spring 2022, UCODE has been funded with the EXIST Forschungstransfer start-up grant from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection for the spin-off of the project from the university context. An interdisciplinary founding team of urban planners, architects, software developers, psychologists and business IT specialists is working intensively on the spin-off as an independent company within the framework of the funding.
