Project Description
Since 2019 the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art (SMWK) promotes digital learning and teaching approaches. The so-called Digital Fellowship Program helps to implement innovative project ideas in Higher Education.
Together with the HTW Dresden, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, and the HTWK Leipzig, the Institute of Building Construction TU Dresden launched the “Open GLASSroom” project in 2020.
The main idea is to film complex glass component tests, process and publish them as Knowledge Clips (= partially animated short videos that entertainingly offer knowledge and animate interaction). In the end, the clips will be available as Open Educational Resources (OER). This way, we want to make sure that more students and teachers can benefit and contribute.
Videos of glass constructions
In the Friedrich-Siemens-Laboratory of the Institute of Building Construction, tests of glass components are carried out. In order to show these elaborate tests to students as well as to a broad audience without being present on site, they are made available on the OpenGLASSroom Channel Open Educational Resources.
