The Institute of Building Construction hosts national and international conferences and further education courses in the field of glass construction and energetic renovation of historical buildings.

The Institute of Building Construction organises further education courses as day-long seminars on a wide range of topics in glass construction and adhesive bonding technology. Further education events are conducted partly in cooperation with professional associations or the Chambers of Architects and Engineers.

The Institute is represented on several national and international committees. These include the Fachverband Konstruktiver Glasbau e.V. (FKG) and the standards committee.
