In our HomeAutomation Lab, we would like to explore the possibilities of building

automation, i.e. the automated control of various actuators, such as electronic window drives or lighting control. On the other hand, we also focus on the collection and management of sensor data. These data provide us with a good database to initiate research in the field of calibration of building simulations.

Calibration
Our HomeAutomation Lab is constantly growing and currently comprises six of our 14 available rooms. Various data, such as room temperature, relative humidity or brightness, are collected in these rooms and centrally recorded by our HomeAutomation server. This sends control commands to the various actuators when certain events occur.
The building automation scenario also represents an ideal example project for software engineering, which we introduce to students in BIW4-33.
