TU Dresden Researchers Present AI-Based Approach at EG-ICE 2026

Researchers from Technische Universität Dresden, Mohamed Ammar, Merna Emara and Prof. Karsten Menzel, participated in the EG-ICE International Workshop on Intelligent Computing in Engineering 2026, held in Padova, Italy, from 1–3 July 2026.
The researchers presented their paper, “Parsing Construction Standards into Machine-Processable Format,” which explores the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and transformer-based AI to automatically extract structured requirements from German construction standards.
The work contributes to ongoing research at TU Dresden on AI, BIM, semantic technologies, and the digitalisation of construction regulations, supporting the development of more automated and machine-processable compliance-checking workflows.
