Institute of Construction Informatics
Approximately 20 researchers and PhD-students work at the institute. Our interdisciplinary team covers a broad spectrum of diciplines, such as: Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science. Main research topics are: Building Information Modeling, i.e. the modeling of buildings, sites, processes, cost, etc. Furthermore, our work includes information logistics, distributed software systems, and conceptual modeling methodologies. The institute has coordinated numerous EU projects and national joint research projects. The continuous cooperation with industry, and accordingly, the dissemination of research results are documented through our active involvement in standardization bodies, multiple technical committees and research associations. The institute plays a major role in the DIN, ISO, IAI, EAPPM bodies, as well as, in several international journals that support the transfer of knowledge and standardization.
