Recognition of academic achievements
Table of contents
In addition to the many added values of a stay abroad, such as improving your language skills and intercultural exchange, it is above all a professional exchange. You have attended courses at the partner university and successfully passed examinations. Now you can have the credits you have earned abroad credited to your studies at TU Dresden.
Recognition of academic achievements - in advance
01. the students compile as much information as possible about the course to be recognized and the associated examination performance (usually module description).
02. you must then assign the course to be recognized to a course of the Faculty of Civil Engineering yourself.
03. you contact the examiners/teachers responsible here, inform them about the planned course and obtain a statement. To do this, please use the form provided for checking credit transferability. Please use one page per teacher so that you can submit the queries at the same time.
04 Once the creditability has been confirmed, the module is entered in Table B of the Learning Agreement. Please do not leave table B empty! This is the only way the Learning Agreement can be signed by the Erasmus coordinator.
05. if you have successfully completed the examination, please submit the Transcript of Records with the preliminary check of creditability to the Examination Office BIW after your return . Please only submit the modules that are to be credited. The approval of the Examination Committee must now be obtained for the official confirmation of credit transfer.
Recognition of academic achievements - afterwards
After your return, you submit an application for credit transfer for the coursework you have completed. You can find the relevant forms on the website of the Office of Student Affairs.
Notes
If the grading systems at the partner university are not comparable, no conversion will take place. The achievement will be listed as "passed" in the transcript of records. If necessary, find out whether your examination results can be assessed using our grading system at the partner university.
