CARE – Climate-neutral And Resource-Efficient Construction
Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirt-Ing. Katharina KLEINSCHROT, Dipl.-Ing. Aline GRUNER, Dipl.-Ing. Karl GIESE
As part of the CARE Cluster of Excellence, the Chair of Construction Process Engineering and Circular Value Creation is investigating how construction practices can be designed to be circular and sustainable. The focus is on the two research projects, Pro-Reuse and Sustain Frame, which address different issues within the cluster. Whilst Pro-Reuse addresses the assessment, reactivation and use of reusable building products from the existing building stock, Sustain Frame focuses on assessing sustainability and the legal, economic and organisational prerequisites for sustainable implementation. The aim is to make material flows more transparent, to make demolition and reuse easier to plan, and thereby to reduce resource consumption, emissions and waste volumes in the construction sector in the long term.
