Abstract:
This thesis examines possibilities for optimising production in a precast concrete plant through the use of efficient transport systems. The starting point is the recognition that internal transport processes have a decisive influence on productivity, economic efficiency and sustainability. Current concrete transport is analysed in detail and evaluated in terms of time requirements, personnel intensity and ecological impact. Based on this analysis, various alternative concepts are developed, including the use of heavy-duty forklifts, electric transport systems, stationary pump solutions and supplementary measures such as coatings to reduce cleaning requirements. The thesis shows that electric transport solutions and semi-automated systems in particular offer significant advantages in terms of increased efficiency, CO₂ reduction and resource conservation. At the same time, the challenges in terms of investment costs, technical feasibility and ensuring operational flexibility are discussed. Finally, recommendations for action are derived that aim to make the sub-processes sustainable and address the shortage of skilled workers and labour through automation. The work thus makes a practical contribution to the sustainable and competitive further development of precast production.
