Summary
The aim of this research project is to test and characterize universally applicable, formable CFRP reinforcement bars for the implementation of complex, spatial reinforcement structures, particularly for bridge and civil engineering, and to develop a forming process that can be used decentrally in line with classic reinforced concrete construction. For the first time, universally applicable test methods for determining the mechanical behavior of subsequently formable CFRP bars are to be developed and validated. At the same time, necessary production concepts are being developed and technical parameters for straight and curved reinforcement are being determined in preparation for industrial-scale production and application. The project goal thus addresses the above-mentioned deficits and their negative effects on construction practice.
