Abstract
In today's pavement engineering, the main focus in Germany is the maintenance of the existing transport infrastructure. The maintenance of the road pavement is divided into renovation and repair actions and serves to remove the damage to the surface, to individual layers or to the entire road pavement. The challenge of maintenance management is to plan and implement measures that lead to an improvement in the quality of the road surface and thus to an extension of the service life.
The main goal of the research project is therefore the new development of thin layers in cold installation (DSK) with fiber addition to increase the service life and the crack-inhibiting effect either as a conventional DSK or as a so-called SAMI layer (Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer). Since a marketable product is ultimately to be developed, the requested project also includes fundamental investigations with regard to the material properties and the development of the necessary machine technology for the installation of a homogeneous building material, especially with the addition of fibers.
