Abstract
Municipalities currently do not have a solid basis for estimating the development of the condition of their road network. Thus, the basis for sustainable maintenance, information and financial management is missing. Road condition is currently only assessed on the basis of visual characteristics on the road surface. However, sustainable maintenance strategies require innovative methods for forecasting the structural condition development of the entire road structure in real time.
The aim of the sub-project is to develop a software from the linking of data from traffic monitoring, climate, the road database as well as own measurements, which for the first time illustrates the condition of the roads in real time as well as under consideration of constructive aspects. From this, necessary road maintenance measures can be derived at an early stage, the information system for citizens and businesses can be expanded and the organisational and financial framework conditions can be defined.
