Call for entries Züblin Steel Construction Award 2024

The prize, which is endowed with a total of € 3,000, is being awarded for the twelfth time for student theses, project theses and diploma theses by students as well as dissertations by scientists from the faculties of civil engineering and architecture at the Dresden University of Technology. The prize recognises outstanding achievements in the design, calculation and execution of steel and composite structures as well as metal facades and roofs in structural, industrial and civil engineering.

In addition, special scientific achievements that promote metal construction are taken into account. This includes developments and This includes developments and advancements in design and construction methods, calculation and dimensioning procedures, manufacturing and assembly technologies as well as contributions to the assessment and promotion of sustainability. Admissible are works that have been produced in the course of studies or doctorates at the faculties of civil engineering and architecture at the Technical University and which were completed after 1.1.2023.

After the submission deadline, the jury will make a preliminary selection of up to ten of the best works. The participants in the competition will be informed of their nomination by 22.4.2024 and present their work in a 15-minute presentation to the independent jury at the TU Dresden on 2.5.2024 at the TU Dresden. Subsequently, the decision on the awarding of the prize will be made during the jury meeting. The award ceremony will take place on the evening of 2 May 2024 as part of the Construction Ball of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at TU Dresden. The venue for the event is the Hygiene Museum, Lingnerplatz 1 in 01069 Dresden.

The legal process is excluded. In cases of doubt and unless otherwise stipulated in this announcement, the Principles and Guidelines for Competitions (GRK) in the latest valid version shall apply mutatis mutandis.
