The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Institute of Steel and Timber Construction, is seeking to fill the position of Chair of Steel Construction as of 01.04.2026.

initially for three years (duration of employment according to WissZeitVG), with the aim of own scientific Further qualification (usually doctorate).
Tasks: Collaboration in research and development as well as teaching and administration. Your activities will include teaching courses and supervising seminar papers and theses. Furthermore you will be responsible for Research work, writing research proposals, reports and scientific publications are also part of your tasks, as well as participation in academic self-administration.
Prerequisites:
- scientific degree University degree in the Department of Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering and a particular interest in research in steel and composite construction
- Ability for interdisciplinary cooperation
- Willingness for international exchange
- Written and spoken English
- Good IT skills
- Independent, goal-oriented work
- High motivation, friendly interaction with colleagues and students
- high level of commitment and willingness to integrate and take responsibility in a team
