Historical keyboard instruments
Project
Statical structural behaviour for historical keyboard instruments
Research topics
- Analysis of the structural behaviour oft he historical "Hammerflügel" MS-44 and MS-28 as well as the "Tangentenflügel" MS-30 from the collection of music instruments of Händelhaus Halle using the Finite-Element-Method
- Evaluation of the basic systems concerning the static characteristics under new condition
- Identifications of the reasons of occurred damages and deformations under static loadings
- Development of material models for the description of the hygro-mechanical behaviour of wooden structures (elastic behaviour, ductile and brittle failure)
- Consideration of the influence of ambient climate on the structural behaviour
- Determination and evaluation of endangered and sensitive parts of the structure
- Impact of existing damages (e.g. cracking) on the behaviour of the whole construction
