Modeling of friction-wear interaction for improved tire durability prediction
Coupled thermo-mechanical analysis of tires with tread pattern focusing on the investigation of friction and wear phenomena
Schwerpunkte
- development of a constitutive friction formulation accounting for temperature
- formulation of a temperature dependent wear law
- development of a global-local approach for the friction and wear analysis involving: - steady state FE simulation of a 3D tire (global model) - transient FE simulation of a rubber block with tread pattern (local model)
- identification of loading and boundary conditions for the local model, based on a steady state 3D tire simulation
- thermo-mechanical analysis of a rubber block with tread pattern (local model) coming into contact with road
- wear rate computed in a local model simulation leads to geometry update of the global model
