Prayer to go - Mobile chapel is presented
"Prayer to go" is the motto on Monday, 8 November from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the getTUgether zone at the Hörsaalzentrum. Uwe Kirst, research assistant at the Chair of Design and Construction II, and his students will present the project, which was developed in cooperation with the Protestant Church of Central Germany (EKM) and the International Building Exhibition (IBA) Thuringia: A mobile open-air chapel, for church services anywhere and at any time.
The multifunctional and mobile micro-architecture, which was created as a "design-build project" as part of the Building Construction III course, can be used both as a chapel and for cultural events. It contains movable folding structures, foldable elements as well as textile architectures that allow for uncomplicated assembly and multifunctional use, for example also as a covered stage space or gastronomic buffet.
The chapel will be presented as a pilot project at the getTUgether zones currently under construction. The results of the study can be marvelled at and tested live on site with a soda from the CoffeeMike from the Blaupause e.V. project.
The Sächsische Zeitung also reports on the mobile chapel today.
