Finalists selected for BDA-SARP Award 2025
Niklas von Werder's diploma design was selected by the BDA-SARP Award 2025 jury as one of a total of 18 final projects for the second round of judging. Around 60 projects were nominated throughout Germany for this year's award, which are characterized by high architectural and urban quality.
Niklas was able to convince the jury with his diploma thesis "Campus Boulevard - Extension of the Romanshorn Cantonal School". His design responds to deficits in the development by creating a new, second entrance in the east and a central access axis in the form of a "Campus Boulevard", which connects all the buildings and open spaces. Open, flexible learning landscapes replace traditional classrooms. Two new buildings along the axis complement the central main building, which is being converted into a learning center and extended using timber construction.
The design topic was published in the summer semester 2024 by Professors Ansgar and Benedikt Schulz (Chair of Architectural Design and Construction I).
We wish Niklas every success for the presentation of his work in Warsaw in September 2025 and hope that he will be able to impress with his design there too.
