Chair of Landscape Architecture of the TU Dresden as guests at the UNAM México City
From March 27 to April 3 2022, the three research assistants Anne Oberritter, Michèle Robin Jankowski and Laura Veronese of the Chair of Landscape Architecture at the TU Dresden traveled to México City.
Reason for this travel was the transfer of the installation “Kulturpalupe”, which the Chair of Landscape Architecture and their students had realized in cooperation with Plastique Fantastique in summer semester 2018 for the event “Leseräume” of the Dresden Municipal Libraries in front of the Kulturpalast, to the Casa del Lago (UNAM). Here the students of the UNAM developed an own program within the installation in the Bosque de Chapultepec in México City.
In exchange for this transfer, the three scientists were invited to the renowned Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) for guest critics with students, lectures at the conference “Conversaciones de Paisaje UNAM – TU Dresden” on March 31, and lectures at the event “Burbujas efímeras: un relato, un encuentro” on April 1st at the Casa del Lago (UNAM).
Furthermore, the trip offered the unique opportunity to visit various landscape architectural and artistic highlights of the metropolis, such as projects by the internationally renowned architect Luis Barragán and works by the world-famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
This initial contact between the Chair of Landscape Architecture at the TU Dresden and the Facultad de Arquitectura at the UNAM will be intensified and expanded in the future.
