Climate heroes: The ecological value of old trees and healthy soils / Special TUD page in the Sächsische Zeitung newspaper
Water, soil, forest: At the TUD |Campus Tharandt, researchers are very aware of climate change. They investigate how it affects nature both in our region and worldwide, and what consequences this can have. And they know the potential of old trees and healthy soils as guarantors of biodiversity and CO2 storage.
The Sächsische Zeitung has a special page dedicated to this topic (in German):
Landmarks and green arks
Impressively beautiful and biologically extremely valuable: TUD Professor Andreas Roloff
conducts research on ancient trees, turning them into national natural heritage.
Climate change: Every place suffers differently ...
In Tharandt, researchers are developing information services to specifically identify local climate hazards and prepare for them.
The soil as a climate saver
At the Institute of Soil Science and Site Ecology, Prof. Karl-Heinz Feger conducts research at ground level – more precisely, in the complex environmental medium of soil.
Special articles about TUD appearing regularly in the Sächsische Zeitung provide information on other current projects at the university. These can be found here: https://www.saechsische.de/unternehmenswelt/tu-dresden
