Future Day of Forest Sciences in Tharandt
As expected, the Future Day at Judeich-Bau on November 26, 2024 in Tharandt was "well attended". "A complete success," sums up Jacob Riedel from the organization team. The Saxon Minister of the Environment, Wolfram Günther, came in person to open the event and, together with the Chairperson of the Department of Forest Sciences, Prof. Norbert Weber and the Dean of Studies, Prof. Marieke van der Maaten-Theunissen, to welcome the guests. With over 1,000 participants, this event is not only a forum for dialog and exchange, but also a unique magnet for discovering and promoting career prospects in the forestry and environmental sector. The highlights of the event were:
- Forestry Job Fair: Numerous companies and organizations presented themselves at over 50 stands with current job vacancies, career opportunities and insights into their work.
- Workshops: In more than 15 workshops, participants were able to work on practical topics such as sustainable forestry, biodiversity and environmental management.
- Lectures and discussions: Renowned advisors highlighted current trends and challenges in the forestry and environmental sectors.
- Networking: Last but not least, networking with leading companies, scientists and up-and-coming talents from all over Germany was an important building block for the connection.
The Tharandt Talks have established themselves. They combine career opportunities, knowledge transfer and sustainable solutions under one roof. They promise stories about exciting life paths and exclusive access to experts and participants from the industry, most of whom are also forestry science alumni.
After this popularity, there is no question: there will be another Future Day.
