R intensive course for graduate and PhD students

An R intensive course at the introductory / intermediate level is offered in the last week of March:

Title: Introduction to the statistics software R: Basic techniques, fundamental statistical methods and selected topics
Time: 27–29 March 2023, 8:30–11:45
Language: English & German (partly, depending on participants)
Requirements: valid ZIH login for the TU campus PCs; elementary knowledge of statistical methods

Content:
Monday (27 March)
Basic R techniques, including the R language and user interface, vector operations, elementary programming constructs and data manipulation.
• Fundamental statistical methods, computation of popular summary statistics and diagrams.

Tuesday (28 March)
• Basic parametric and nonparametric tests.
• Linear regression and correlation analysis.

Wednesday (29 March)
Selected advanced topics (depending on the interests of the participants); for example, R programming, generalized linear models, linear mixed models, multivariate techniques, time series, spatial statistics, simulation based analysis (Monte Carlo methods).
